ABDC 6 - Episode 4 : wherein a crackhead gets burned and the fuckery continues
Howdy and welcome to yet another CrankyCap! We're already at episode 4. Time flies. And I'm not even having fun yet.
So we're continuing with the season of the superstars and this week is Katy Perry week. I know exactly two songs she's done and one because it was used in a previous abdc season so you know, again, not a superstar in my eyes.
Blahblah, yawn yawn, have some pretty and we'll skip right to the dancing if you don't mind ;-)

he's so pretty, oh so pretty
Do not read if you haven't yet watched the episode because I'm going to spoil all your fun now. Also, I'm typing this as I watch the show for the first time and I'm on limited time here so if there are any typo's or things that don't make sense, I apologize.
Follow up:
The first two crews that are definitely coming back are Phunk Phenomenon (YAY!) and I aM Me. OHMYGOD! WHAT? WHY?! Sheesh! Are they paying people to vote or what? Oh, this is a really bad start to the episode.
Anyway! Phunk Phenomenon gets to kick off tonight's episode. They'll be dancing to "Waking up in Vegas" (never heard of it) so they need to create a roulette on stage.

spinning around
And BOOM! Here we go again! These guys (and girl) hit the stage and it's the fourth of July fireworks! So energetic, so explosive! They make me want to see more every single time! They create a story that is so completely Vegas and incorporated the roulette challenge effortlessly! Love them! In case you hadn't noticed ;-)
D-Trix says he loved them the first week, he loved them even more the second week and he loves them even more this week. He says they took the story and their challenge and built a whole story around it. That's what I said. Don't copy me, douchebag. He congratulates them and tells them to keep doing what they're doing.
Lil' Mama feels the energy of the crew slowed down a bit this week and she wants to keep moving forward and to grow. I wish she would move forward. Straight out of the studio and don't come back. She says they are one of the most slept on and powerful groups on this show right now.
JC loves that they started with the look of shame which is typically Vegas apparently. I wouldn't know, I've never been there. Is that why they say "what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas"? Because it's stuff to be ashamed of? Kinda makes me wonder about JC's stories. He used to hang out in Vegas quite a bit. Focus! He tells them if they're going to work in levels, they need to define the highs and the lows better. And he thought the acting at the end was a little cheesy and they need to work it a bit more.
Next up, I aM Me who will be performing to "Peacock" and need to fan out on stage like a peacock.

I'm like a bird
Quick! Think of something nice to say. *five minutes later* Oh! They finally seem to have understood that they need to use the stage a bit more. Other than that, I've got nothing. They bore me. I don't find them clean or very creative and I'd never pay money to see them. I don't understand why they get so many votes.
Lil' Mama says this group always ceases to amaze her. I'm pretty sure that's not what she meant. She used it wrong in previous seasons as well. You'd think she'd learn. Wait. That would imply she had a braincell to learn with. Never mind that. She says they came with a whole new style. She loves how they worked the stage.
JC says they finally got it and they went a-symmetrical here and there and he's not going to bug them about it anymore. And then he shows a slow-motion clip of one of the peacock moves and seriously? Am I the only one who notices how sloppy they are? It's not, wait for it, nsync ;-) It's a mess! That's why I like these slow motion clips. They just prove my point :-p
D-Trix thinks they got a hard challenge but they created something brilliant. He says their style is authentic. All I saw is another sloppy slow-motion moment.
Onwards with Mario revealing the next crew to survive and they are 787 crew. Which means Request Dance Crew is once again in the bottom two. Really, America? Are you blind? They had one of the best performances last week and you put them in the bottom two? What the hell is wrong with you?!
*breathe*
787 Crew will be performing to "hot and cold" and for their challenge they need to create a rollercoaster. How hard can that be?

wheelchaircoaster?
Aaww, crap. I was all set to go "they're okay, nothing special" and then out comes their injured crew member with the broken leg in a wheelchair and he's part of the choreography and I just love how they managed to do that and get him involved! And it seemed to help them pick things up somehow and I feel this was their best performance so far.
JC says they took a negative situation and turned it into a positive. He loves the levels that they did and he says this was a really good week for them.
D-Trix says Puerto Rico just brought the heat. He also says straight up a lot. I don't know why. His vocabulary is terrible. He tells them to keep it up and they did a good job.
Lil' Mama says they had tremendous formations on the stage tonight and that they brought some of the highest energy in the room tonight and she thinks it was a great performance.
Time to reveal the last two crews that will definitely move on to the next show and they are Iconic Boyz (I can live with that) and Instant Noodles. So the bottom two for this week are Street Kingdom and Request Dance Crew. I have a bad feeling about this. But that's for later.
First we continue the show with Iconic Boyz. The song they will be performing to is "teenage dream" and for their challenge they need to create a wall and break it down.

please for to stop moving so I can take a decent screencap!
That was okay. The level of energy was a lot lower than last week. Maybe they're getting tired. It's kinda weird to see such young guys grooving like grown-ups. I don't know how I feel about that. They're entertaining though, I'll give them that and they still deserve to be here and they are still outdancing some of the other crews. Hopefully they'll come out guns blazing next week though.
D-Trix starts off by saying it wasn't that good. Whoa. Dude. He says they are adorable but it takes more than that to be America's best dance crew and their gift can be a weakness and they're mentally not as clever as the older kids. They need to show that they are more than just kids dancing and he knows they have it in them because they've been bringing it the previous weeks. Maybe we should rethink last week's bet? Maybe D-Trix will be the one to make the wee boys cry.
Lil' Mama says she doesn't care what anyone says, they are her babies. She says their choreography is some of the cleanest on this show. Hate to say it but she's right. She says that they have swag for days. I don't know what that means but that's nothing new where she is concerned. It's quite hard to concentrate on what she's saying when I can see JC's hand in the bottom of my screen moving around his piece of paper like a madman. He's scribbling stuff down in the most ferocious way. Oh, she's not done yet. Okay. She says it's like watching a boyband and they bring a lot of swag and personality to the stage. She says they ARE clever because their minds are free and open which is apparently because they don't have to pay rent ...

dumbass - jokester - very amused
... and she tells them to just use their creativity and anything they can imagine, they can do. Nobody can stop them. I hate to say this too but I actually quite liked the way she defended them.
JC says that while he respects D-Trix, he has to disagree at lot with what he said. He says their challenge in creating the wall was a little abc but tells D-Trix not to be a crackhead and say he didn't like the whole routine. Wahey! Sassy!JC makes a return! Finally! Where have you been? D-Trix interrupts and says this would have been a whole different story if these kids had been in their twenties and that they have to work just as hard. D-Trix agrees that their choreography is clean but if it's at an intermediate level, it's just easier to clean. They need to work harder on their formations and they'll go a lot further in life.
And JC disagrees once again and he's going to tell us why. Go ahead, honey. Show them why you're the most intimidating judge! He says it's a performance and it's about playing the crowd. It's not always about being clean and it's not always about doing something that someone else doesn't do. Sometimes it's about giving the crowd what they want.

angry - proud - smug
JC ends by saying he enjoyed the routine. That was fun! I want more of that next week! Battle! D-Trix looks like he just got the spanking of his life and he's about to start crying. ahahahaha! Love it!
Up next, Instant Noodles who will be performing to "firework" and their challenge is to start a movement that will explode into the rest of the crew. Or something like that. I wasn't paying attention. Too busy laughing at what happened before.

I don't know what they're doing
Nope. Just doesn't work for me. The ballet section in the middle was kinda cute but I don't know why it was in there. Didn't really get the fireworks explosion. They are also sloppy, not in sync, there's a lot of just standing there and doing nothing and they are still way too much Poreotix influence.
JC thought the ballet moment was fun. But he feels there seemed to be a lot of pauses. Word. He tells them they need to keep it going. Short and sweet.
D-Trix says the routine was good. And he says some more stuff. But I really don't care. I get the feeling he's just kinda nice to them because they're bboys and so is he. And they're Asian and so is he. So what if a bboy does a ballet move? That makes it a great routine? Feh.
Lil' Mama thinks they utilized the stage really well tonight. She thought it was a very athletic performance and she liked how they brought ballet into the picture.
Next up, the battle of the bottom between Street Kingdom and Request Dance Crew.
They flipped a coin and Street Kingdom gets to go first. For their challenge they have to transport the audience by creating a spaceship.

weirdest spaceship ever.
I'm sorry but I just don't get it. I don't understand the krumping thing obviously. Again, this performance was just pure chaos for me, like their previous ones. I don't consider this krumping style as dancing. It's just a lot of agressive jumping around that reminds me of the urang-utans in the zoo. Alpha male is me, let me show you my awesomeness. Or something like that. Also, this one guy started doing some krumping right in front of JC which apparently scared the crap out of him because he moved his chair away from him. ahahaha! I love little moments like that!
No comments from the judges right now. We're going straight to Request who will be dancing to "california girls" and for their challenge they need to ride a wave on stage.

so creative
I love this crew! They always come out giving it their all and they are so creative especially with their challenges. I was watching so intently that I forgot to take a screencap and had to rewind. That's what it's all about!
On to the judges' comments and D-Trix goes first as he gets to talk about Street Kingdom. Dude has tears in his eyes and calls this the best performance he's ever seen in his life. I say dude needs to get out more. He says the passion is beyond dance and beyond love. That's because it's neither dance nor love. I'm beginning to think the D in D-Trix stands for Douchebag. He says they left him speechless yet he's still talking. He thanks them for inspiring him and the whole world. Y'all feeling inspired? Are ya? *crickets* Heh.
JC gets to talk about Request but first points out that this was a great battle and both crews put on fantastic performances. He says Request is the perfect example of perseverence, having come from a whole 'nother country and for the second week in a row they are trying to fight their way out of the bottom and they are showing up every time and fighting off the competition. They showed that they are well-rounded dancers and they show many styles of dances. He loves the visuals they put together and their challenge was very creative. He felt they were top notch tonight.
Lil' Mama tells Street Kingdom they boosted the energy in the room from a seven to a ten. She tells Request they are definitely holding it down for New Zealand. She feels both crews came out and were ready to battle.
Time for the judges to make their decision.

nobody cares about D-Trix apparently
And we're back!
The crew that still has a chance to the title is .... Street Kingdom. WHAT?! NOOOOOOOOOO!!!! OHMYGOD WHAT?! Can't I make this font bigger to really point out my outrage here?
I am .... I ..... good heavens, I'm so angry I can't find the words right now. What is this fuckery? Didn't I say this would happen? They were never going to vote out "a legend"! This is so totally fucked up. I apologize for my language if it offends you but there's no other way to say it.
And a lot of this is down to the voters. If once again, you just voted against Request because of where they come from then stop watching the damned show! Or MTV needs to either change the name of the show or change the rules. Don't let non-American crews audition and go ahead to the show if you're just gonna send them home after 3 weeks. Request is one of the hottest crews around right now! And you're sending them home?
OUTRAGED!!!!
If it wasn't for the fact that I'm supposed to write this recap every week and JC is hot and pretty and sassy, I'd quit this show right now!
Shame on you voters! And shame on you judges (or producers)!
*deep breath*
To end on a happy note, thank you once again to everyone reading and leaving comments or tweets. I really appreciate the pimpage and the love! See you guys next week! :-)

I was laughing over that too. Never my dear, NEVER *lol*
I can't believe JC has already dropped the Crack Head already this season! I would say D-Trix needs to learn to let people finish speaking but I agree that was fun. So do continue lil chipmunk man ;-P
As long as Phunk Phenom wins in the end I don't really care who goes what week.
It's quite hard to concentrate on what she's saying when I can see JC's hand in the bottom of my screen moving around his piece of paper like a madman. He's scribbling stuff down in the most ferocious way.
"Douchebag...Assjacket...Crackhead" *circles it*
OMG yes, I had to rewind because I couldn't stop watching his hand!
I liked the Boyz this week, and I'm not their biggest fan, so I agree with JC and Lil Mama. And anything that gets JC worked up, I'm in favor of. Hugely.
I agree w you, esp about Phunk <3. And about Street Kingdom! I am one of those who doesn't Get It.
Dude has tears in his eyes and calls this the best performance he's ever seen in his life. I say dude needs to get out more. He says the passion is beyond dance and beyond love. That's because it's neither dance nor love.
LOL ILU.
I thought Request was FANTASTIC this week. IMO, two bad eliminations the last two weeks.
My only disagreement is that I want Lil Mama to stay forever. She's crazy entertaining and educational in the sense that I feel like I'm becoming bilingual.
ahahahaha! I love that!
Yay, I'm not the only one then! Then again, my eyes automatically go right to him whenever he's in the vicinity of being on the screen. Did anyone else notice the little thing it did when Lil Mama said 'boyband'?
Also, I would have signed in to say this. But I don't know how. :x
