DJ : Welcome JC Chasez!
JC : How are you?
DJ : We’re good, man. How are you doing?
JC : Doing good.
DJ : Now, America’s Best Dance crew back on MTV?
JC : Yes, sir.
DJ : And what season is this?
JC : This is season five actually.
DJ 2 : Holy cow! That went fast!
JC : Yeah, it does. It goes quickly.
Follow up:
DJ 2: So I’m seeing all the promo’s for this on tv and I’m super excited because it looks like these guys are going to be killer this year.
JC : It’s gonna be a really good season. We actually changed it up as well so. We did some shaking up this season. This season, actually, the judges, we actually went to some of the cities for the auditions.
DJ : Oh really? Okay. That’s cool.
JC : And we’ve added three shows to the format and the regional show will have five crews from the South and we will eliminate two crews in the first show.
DJ : I like that idea!
DJ2 : So well, are you seeing a lot of hip-hop? What kind of dancers are you seeing a lot of this year?
JC : It seems like everybody in this season honestly tried to create their own style. Like, it seems like every, a lot of the crews on the show have tried to reinvent a certain style, you know. We, you know, we have a lot of crews from the South and a couple of them, you know, we have some of them that are doing a new style called crankin’, some crews have reinvented the style of …
*gets cut off by the DJ*
DJ : I invented crankin’ by the way.
DJ2 : I doubt it.
JC : Okay. *chuckles*
DJ : Yes.
JC : But you know, there’s like ten different styles of buckin’ but one of the crews that’s gonna perform tomorrow, we auditioned in the South and they said they invented the new style of buckin’ so. You know, there’s just, it’s interesting to see that everybody’s trying to put their stamp on a style and say it’s their own signature style so.
DJ : America’s Best Dance Crew on MTV and of course the great thing about MTV is that they run that stuff all the time. Now is there any truth to the rumor that you’re looking for an Italian American, specifically on the heels of the success of Jersey Shore?
JC : No. *chuckles*
DJ : Anybody named Snookie?
DJ2 : I sincerely hope not because I can’t imagine Snookie trying to do any kind of dance moves without falling all over the place.
JC : I mean, you know, if nothing else, it’s entertaining so you know, there you go. That routine would be amazing actually. I think. *chuckles*
DJ : They could do a dance to the Godfather theme or something, I don’t know.
JC : *laughs*
DJ : Hey, the Grammy’s are coming up this weekend, JC. Are you gonna be watching? Are you heading out there for some after-parties? What’s the word on that?
JC : You know, I’ll be around, you know what I mean, so I’ll be checking it out and I’ll be rooting for all all my people, I guess.
DJ : You keep in touch with the guys at all?
JC : We all keep in touch, yeah.
DJ : Through facebook and twitter?
JC : No *chuckles*, through phone calls and actually sitting down and having dinners, yeah.
DJ : Really?
JC : Yeah.
DJ : That’s cool. Okay. Alright, JC Chasez, thanks for stopping by and spending some time with us here.
JC : Of course, man.
DJ : Everybody check out the show on MTV, Thursday nights, America’s Best Dance Crew, JC Chasez. Remember if things get boring, just date a Kardashian, you know that right?
JC : No.
DJ2 : They’re all taken!
JC : I’m all good, man. They’re all spoken for pretty much.
DJ : Ah, come on, JC, you have the looks. You can go …
DJ2 : *interrupts* Stop it!
DJ : Alright, JC, thanks for coming on, bud.
JC : Alright, be good.
DJ : See ya!
