JC Chasez Hits Small Screen, Plots Musical Return

JC Chasez Hits Small Screen, Plots Musical Return

Access Hollywood

Former *NSYNC vocalist JC Chasez is gearing up to release his second solo album this coming January, but don't count him out of the acting world.

The former Mouseketeer returned to the small screen earlier this month on the Jennifer Love Hewitt-fronted vehicle ‘Ghost Whisperer.' Playing a bassist in a fictional band who's lead singer passed away, kicked in Chasez's acting bug.

"I had a great time doing it," he told Access. "I can't even think of a better experience than to be doing it with someone like Jennifer Love Hewitt due to the fact she was a child star as well and I came up through the same kind of thing."

Follow up:

Though he found the camera alluring, Chasez will make his as yet untitled second record, which features a collaboration with former bandmate Justin Timberlake, his priority.

"It's something I'm interested in, but to do for fun. Music is always going to be the love of my life," he said. "As an artist you want to stretch your talents. You know every musician wants to be an actor to a certain extent and every actor wants to be a musician to a certain extent. We're the Gene Kelly's of today."

Chasez is looking to take his new bag of tracks on the road next year, but maybe not those toe tapping steps. Just like Justin Timberlake, Chasez is hinting his days of extreme, colorful, stage theatrics may be over.

"I definitely want to do a raw show and build on that," the singer said. "Seeing Justin play his stripped down shows, they were fun and it gives a new perspective. I think it would give people a new perspective on what I do as well. People are used to seeing us ride mechanical bulls on stage and stuff, which is great, but I want to express the other side of things."
