Q - What is the style of your new album?
A - ...which is always the hardest question for me to answer, but on this album I have a very strong feeling about what this sound on this album is and I would like to call it Intelligent Pop Music. IPM. Intelligent Pop Music is what I'm calling the style of this album's music.
Q - Do you have a plan to come to Japan with the new stuff? I'm a big fan and I'd love to see you here in Japan.
A - My plan is... world domination! No... I would love to come back to Japan. I obviously am starting here in the states cause this is my home but I already have a plan laid out to travel abroad, to Europe and Asia as well because I think this record, in those areas would do just fine.
Q - I know you are working with Timbaland. Will your new album be mostly hip hop, if that is the right termanology, and hip hop will show it off.
A - This is not a hip hop record. I worked with Timbaland because I find that he can stretch himself and do different things. Yes he's a great beat maker, but I bring so many different melodic qualities and styles to the table that I... it is a rythmic track for sure but I wouldn't call it hip hop at all. I actually think it's a really cool song I did with Timbaland and it's called 'Fire'.
Q - How was your birthday?
A - Whoa. I was a mess! I don't know what else to say. *laughs* I dressed up as an old man and then changed half way through the night cause everybody was gonna call me an old man anyways so I dressed up be 60.
Q - What's the new album gonna sound like and who are some of your biggest influences?
A - Again, this one touches back to what I said earlier. My album is going to kinda sound like it's own thing. It's my record and I'm proud of it, it's my sound. Some of the influences... were actually drawn by the ideas of the writes and producers I worked with on the record. We really kinda found like... we discovered something on our own. And obviously you can say any song in the universe sounds like something else but... we like what we're doing right now is very unique. So I'm very proud of that. The first single is... I did with my buddy Justin and, it sounds great. I don't know what song I can compare it to... A couple of the comparisons were to Freddy Mercury, which is very flattering. But obviously a modern take on it *plays drums* none of that! It is a very cool record and... I like it a lot and I'm looking forward to everybody hearing it.Thank you for your questions, look forward to answering more and I will see you next time!
